My Simple, All-Natural, DIY Skincare Routine for Ladies Who Don’t Have Time

All you need for a simple, natural, non-toxic skincare routine with high quality ingredients; for busy women who don't have time for recipesTo be honest with you, I’ve never been one to spend 30 minutes doing a nightly skincare routine. In college, I was lucky if I even washed my face. ( I know…) Truthfully, I have been blessed with pretty chill skin! However, it has always been sensitive, and I used to buy the expensive “sensitive skin” moisturizers and cleansers.

I found out later that it wasn’t necessarily that my skin is “sensitive”, it just doesn’t like harsh cleansers, preservatives, and additives! My skincare routine is about as easy as it has ever been, and it’s also the cheapest. Can you believe that? Oh, and I should add, my skin is also as healthy and vibrant as it has ever been!

I don’t have red, irritated cheeks anymore, I don’t have dryness and flaking, and I don’t have dehydrated fine lines. How could it be that the simpler the products, the better? Maybe our skin was never made for harsh cleansers, chemicals, and preservatives. So, without further rambling, here is my all-natural, non-toxic, DIY skincare routine in all of it’s glorious simplicity!

A simple, all natural, DIY skincare routine for busy moms

Okay, so who has a Pinterest board full of beautiful DIY recipes for anti-aging creams, sugar scrubs, face wash, and toners? I know I do! Check it out in all of it’s glory HERE. I want to make each and every one of these creations too. However, I do not have the time nor the desire to spend hours following recipes, trying and failing, and pinning more recipes. I need something quick, practical, effective, and budget friendly.

Here I will share with you what I do to my face each morning and night in my chaotic, disorganized mom life:

  • I wash my face with water and cleanse it with a Konjac Sponge.
  • I use Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (or any face oil) and half a cotton pad to remove eye makeup and any thick face makeup
  • I use DIY toner and the other half of the pad to tone my face and remove any residual makeup or dirt
  • I moisturize with half rosehip oil, half apricot kernel oil (sometimes I add a couple drops of Frankincense essential oil)*

*As with any essential oil, educate yourself. Do your research on the company you have chosen; call them and ask questions, research their farms, distillation processes, GC/MS reports, organic practices, and other data. Essential oils are powerful and must be treated as such. Please, keep them in a locked cabinet far away from children. If you want to know what essential oils I use, please contact me. I’d love to chat about it!

Yeah, easy peasy. If it takes more 5 minutes I’m usually too tired to do it. Honestly, I’ve heard amazing things about oil cleansing, and maybe someday I will get into it. Right now, however, this is working for me!

How to Choose A Facial Oil

When you need to refill just eyeball it; it will take like two seconds! I have very sensitive skin and this works well for me. My husband has less sensitive, oily skin and it works well for him too. If it doesn’t seem to be working well for you (natural skincare can sometimes get tricky), tweak the recipes a bit. Or just ask me for help!

I won’t go on any more, because I know you’re busy! Let me know if you have questions 🙂

  1. Love your recipes and routine! Rosehip Oil is an amazing powerhouse for healthy, glowing skin! We also recommend trying rose water in your toner next time around, it is wonderful for brightening and providing a lovely natural fragrance! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
